It is a desert region located within the Riverside County, CA and is often called Greater Palm Springs, reflecting the historical significance of the city of Palm Springs at its western edge. The valley stretches roughly 45 miles, extending from the San Gorgonio Pass in the southeast to the northern edge of the Salton Sea and the adjacent Imperial Valley.
